Hero System Overview
Heroes are powerful NPC allies that accompany your character into battle, dungeons, and world events. Each hero has a unique race affinity, class archetype, and passive ability that activates when they are assigned as your active companion. You may only have one active hero at a time, but you can recruit and maintain up to all 12 in your roster.
Heroes are not just combat bonuses — they also contribute to economy tasks (some heroes generate gold passively), crafting efficiency, and faction reputation gain. Choosing the right hero for your current goal is a key strategic decision.
NOTE
Heroes do not die. If your character loses a fight, your active hero is simply "stunned" for 1 hour and cannot be used during that window. You can switch to another recruited hero in the meantime.
Hero Slots
- Slot 1 (free) — unlocked from the start; holds your first recruited hero
- Slots 2–4 — unlocked at character levels 10, 25, and 50
- Slots 5–12 — unlocked via Prestige tiers (Prestige 1 through 8)

Loyalty System
Every hero has a Loyalty Level ranging from 1 to 3. Higher loyalty unlocks stronger passive bonuses and grants access to the hero's Active Skill in combat. Loyalty does not reset if you swap your active hero.
Loyalty Levels & Bonuses
| Level | Passive Strength | Active Skill | How to Reach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loyalty 1 | 50% of listed passive | Not available | Default on recruitment |
| Loyalty 2 | 75% of listed passive | Unlocked (1 use/fight) | 250 Loyalty Points |
| Loyalty 3 | 100% of listed passive | Enhanced (2 uses/fight) | 1,000 Loyalty Points (cumulative) |
Earning Loyalty Points
- Fighting with hero active: +1 LP per PvE fight won, +3 LP per dungeon floor cleared
- Winning PvP with hero active: +5 LP per arena win, +10 LP per Eclipse War kill
- Hero Gifts: Items purchasable with Gold or Gems — Small Gift (+15 LP), Large Gift (+75 LP), Grand Tribute (+300 LP)
- Daily Login bonus: +2 LP to your active hero each day you log in
- Quest completions: Select quests reward +20–50 LP to a specified hero
TIP
Focus on reaching Loyalty 2 first — the active skill unlock is a larger combat boost than the 25% passive improvement from Loyalty 2 to 3. Prioritize heroes that match your current content focus (PvE vs PvP).
How to Recruit Heroes
Heroes are not purchasable outright. Each hero must be unlocked by completing a specific recruitment quest chain. These quests become available at set character levels and sometimes require prior faction standing.
| Hero | Level Req. | Quest Chain | Special Req. |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seraphine Dusk | 5 | "Blood & Fire" (3 quests) | Vampire race only |
| Cain Hollows | 10 | "Shadow Games" (4 quests) | Vampire race only |
| Lord Morvaine | 20 | "The Court Remembers" (5 quests) | Vampire; Neutral+ with Crimson Court |
| Lysara the Pale | 15 | "Enchanted Paths" (3 quests) | Vampire race only |
| Vreth Nightcaller | 30 | "Voices from the Void" (6 quests) | Vampire; complete Dungeon 3 |
| Darra Ashfang | 25 | "The Alchemist's Price" (4 quests) | Vampire; Alchemy skill 3+ |
| Grull Ironmaw | 5 | "Trial of the Wild" (3 quests) | Werewolf race only |
| Shaya Moonsinger | 10 | "Moon's Call" (4 quests) | Werewolf race only |
| Koda Stormfang | 20 | "Alpha Rising" (5 quests) | Werewolf; Clan member |
| Fenra Wildblood | 15 | "Hunter's Path" (3 quests) | Werewolf race only |
| Bran Ashclaw | 25 | "Deep Veins" (4 quests) | Werewolf; Mining level 4+ |
| Elder Theron | 35 | "The Neutral Accord" (7 quests) | Any race; Friendly+ with any 3 factions |
WARNING
Race-locked heroes (e.g. Seraphine for Vampires) cannot be recruited or used if you are playing the opposite race. If you use a Prestige Race Change, any race-locked heroes you owned are placed into an inactive "Vault" and cannot be used until you switch back.
Hero Skills in Combat
At Loyalty 2+, heroes grant an Active Skill that triggers automatically under specific conditions during combat. You do not manually activate these — they fire based on round number, HP threshold, or enemy type.
| Hero | Active Skill | Trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seraphine Dusk | Blood Nova | Round 3 | Deal 80% of player's STR as bonus magic damage; heal 50% of damage dealt |
| Cain Hollows | Shadow Strike | Round 1 | First attack deals ×2.5 crit damage regardless of crit roll |
| Lord Morvaine | Iron Bulwark | Player HP < 40% | Reduce all incoming damage by 35% for 2 rounds |
| Lysara the Pale | Mesmerize | Round 2 | Enemy skips their attack action for 1 round (PvE only) |
| Vreth Nightcaller | Wraith Wall | Any round (15% chance) | Absorb all damage from 1 incoming hit |
| Darra Ashfang | Elixir Surge | Round 5 | Player heals 20% max HP; next attack deals +50% damage |
| Grull Ironmaw | Berserker Rage | Player HP < 30% | Damage +50% for 3 rounds; receive 10% more damage |
| Shaya Moonsinger | Lunar Blessing | Round 4 | Restore 25% max HP; clear 1 negative status effect |
| Koda Stormfang | War Howl | Round 1 | +20% STR for the entire fight (stacks with other buffs) |
| Fenra Wildblood | Predator's Mark | Round 2 | Enemy DEF reduced by 30% for 4 rounds |
| Bran Ashclaw | Rock Smash | Round 3 | Deal flat 200 bonus damage; stun enemy for 1 round |
| Elder Theron | Ancient Wisdom | Round 5 | Player gains +25% to all stats for 2 rounds |
TIP
At Loyalty 3, heroes with round-triggered skills get a second use. For example, Seraphine's Blood Nova fires on round 3 AND round 7. This makes Loyalty 3 especially powerful in long dungeon boss fights.
