1. Our Philosophy

Vampires vs. Werewolves is a free-to-play game with a firm commitment to fair competition. We believe a game is only enjoyable when your standing in it reflects your skill, time investment, and strategy — not your wallet.

What "No Pay-to-Win" Means Here

This is not just a marketing phrase — it is a design rule we enforce across every premium decision:

• Gems never buy combat power directly. You cannot purchase higher ATK, DEF, HP, or any stat that affects combat outcomes with Gems.
• No gear or skills behind a paywall. Every item that affects gameplay stats, and every skill in the skill trees, is obtainable through free gameplay.
• Convenience, not advantage. Gems buy time-saving features (inventory space, extra respec) and cosmetics — none of which affect combat results.
• Battle Pass contains no gameplay essentials. The premium Battle Pass track rewards cosmetics and gold — not gear with stats beyond what free players can earn through normal play in the same time period.
• Free players can earn Gems. A meaningful amount of Gems is earnable through free gameplay, allowing free players to access Gem Shop items with sufficient effort.

2. Gem Packages

Gems are the premium currency of VvW. They are purchased directly through the in-game shop or the website. Prices are listed in USD; local currency prices may vary and are displayed at checkout. All purchases are processed securely via Stripe.

Larger packages offer better per-gem value. Bonus Gems are credited to your account instantly alongside base Gems upon successful purchase. Gems do not expire.

3. What Gems Buy

The Gem Shop is accessible in-game from any location via the top navigation bar. Items are organised into categories. Below is a full reference of current Gem Shop offerings.

Cosmetics

• Armor Skins: Replace the visual appearance of any equipped gear piece without altering its stats. Individual pieces range from 80–200 Gems; full outfit sets range from 300–600 Gems.
• Weapon Illusions: Overlay a cosmetic appearance onto your equipped weapon. Range: 100–250 Gems.
• Mount Skins: Visual variants for your mount. Range: 200–500 Gems.
• Companion Pets: Non-combat decorative companions that follow your character. Range: 150–350 Gems.
• Profile Frames & Avatars: Cosmetic account-level items shown on your player profile. Range: 50–150 Gems.
• Titles: Custom titles displayed above your character name. Range: 80–200 Gems. Some exclusive titles are only available via the Battle Pass or events.

Convenience

• Name Change: Change your character's display name once. Cost: 300 Gems. Cannot change to a name already in use.
• Extra Respec: Additional skill tree reset beyond the free monthly reset. Cost: 150 Gems per use.
• Auction House Slot Expansion: Increase your simultaneous Auction House listing limit by 5 slots. Default is 5 listings; maximum is 25. Each expansion costs 200 Gems.
• Inventory Expansion Pack: Adds 10 inventory slots permanently. Cost: 150 Gems. Maximum 6 purchases per account.
• Bank Expansion Pack: Adds 20 Bank storage slots permanently. Cost: 200 Gems. Maximum 6 purchases per account.
• Deep Pockets: Increases item stack limit from 99 to 999. One-time account upgrade. Cost: 400 Gems.

Battle Pass & Seasonal

• Battle Pass (Premium Track): 500 Gems per season. See Section 4 for full details.
• Black Market Access: Unlocks the rotating Black Market vendor offering unique limited-stock items each week. Cost: 100 Gems per month or 800 Gems per year. Items in the Black Market are not pay-to-win; they include rare crafting materials and exclusive cosmetics.

Stamina Refills

Stamina is a soft limit on daily dungeon runs. Each player has 10 stamina charges, refreshing at midnight UTC. Additional charges can be purchased for Gems as a convenience option:

• Single Stamina Refill (+5 charges): 50 Gems
• Full Stamina Restore (+10 charges, capped at maximum): 90 Gems
• Maximum 2 paid refills per day. This cap is hard-coded to prevent Gem spending from becoming a meaningful advantage — a free player and a spending player both cap at 30 dungeon runs per day at the absolute maximum.

4. Battle Pass

The Battle Pass runs on a 30-day season cycle. Each season has a unique theme that influences all visual rewards. The pass has two tiers: a Free Track open to all players and a Premium Track costing 500 Gems.

Free vs. Premium Comparison

No Gameplay-Essential Items in Premium

The premium track does contain Socket Kits — however, Socket Kits are also farmable through dungeon tokens and craftable, so they are not gated behind the Battle Pass. The inclusion of 2 Socket Kits in the premium track is a convenience bonus, not an exclusive that creates a material gameplay gap. All gear chests in the premium track match the rarity ceilings that free players can achieve through normal play in the same 30-day window.

Purchasing Mid-Season

You may purchase the Premium Pass at any point during an active season. All premium rewards at or below your current Battle Pass level are granted immediately upon purchase — you do not lose any earned progress.

5. Free Gem Earning

Every player can earn Gems without spending real money. The rate is modest but meaningful — a consistent free player can accumulate enough Gems for a Battle Pass every 1–2 months depending on activity level.

Sources of Free Gems

Estimated Monthly Free Gem Income

A casual player logging in daily and completing weekly content can expect approximately 150–250 Gems per month from free sources. A dedicated player pushing achievements, clearing all dungeons on a new character, and participating in all seasonal events may earn 300–500 Gems per month in peak months. This is sufficient to purchase the Battle Pass every one to two months through free play alone.

6. Refund Policy

We want you to feel confident when making purchases. Our refund policy is designed to be fair to both players and the game's continued development.

Gem Pack Refunds

• Unused gem packs may be refunded within a 48-hour window from the time of purchase, provided the Gems have not been spent. Contact support with your order reference number.
• If any Gems from the purchased pack have been spent, the pack is considered partially used and is not eligible for a full refund. A partial refund for the unspent portion may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• After 48 hours, all Gem purchases are non-refundable regardless of remaining balance.

Gem Shop Item Refunds

• Items purchased from the Gem Shop using Gems are non-refundable once acquired.
• If an item was purchased in error immediately before a price change or content update, contact support within 24 hours — we handle these on a goodwill basis.
• Battle Pass purchases are non-refundable once any premium reward has been claimed.

Contacting Support for Refunds

All refund requests must be submitted to support@duskmaw.com with the following information:

1. Your account email address
2. The date and approximate time of purchase
3. The payment method used (card type, not the card number)
4. Order reference number (found in your purchase confirmation email)
5. Reason for the refund request

Support aims to respond to refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
