Equipment Sets

All 15 equipment sets in Aeternum — set bonuses at 2, 4, and 6 pieces, acquisition methods, and the strategic choice between mixed and full set builds.

How Sets Work

Equipment sets consist of 6 pieces: Helmet, Chest, Gloves, Belt, Legs, and Boots. Equipping multiple pieces from the same set triggers Set Bonuses at 2, 4, and 6 pieces. These bonuses are additive on top of individual item stats.

Set bonuses are automatic — there is no activation required. You can mix pieces from different sets to benefit from multiple 2-piece bonuses simultaneously, though this means sacrificing the stronger 4- and 6-piece bonuses.

NOTE

Weapons and Accessories (rings, amulets) are NOT part of any equipment set. Sets consist exclusively of the 6 armor slots. This means your weapon, ring, and amulet are always free to optimize independently of your set choice.

Mixed Sets vs Full Sets

The decision to run a full 6-piece set versus mixing 2-piece bonuses from multiple sets depends entirely on your content goal and current gear availability.

When to Run Full 6-Piece Sets

  • Subclass-specific sets (Crimson Regalia, Bloodlust Battlegear, Ancestral Regalia) — their 6-piece bonuses directly empower your subclass unique mechanic. Always run full 6-piece for these.
  • Boss farming builds — Ashcrown Scale Set 6-piece gives +30% Dragon drop rate, which is economically superior for dedicated Dragon farming.
  • Eclipse War frontline tanks — Eternity Plate 6-piece auto-heal is a hard survival advantage that no mixed build can replicate.

When to Run Mixed Sets

  • Early/mid game (levels 15–50) — your best gear from different tiers will outperform a full lower-tier set. Prioritize raw stats over set completeness until you can afford a full T4+ set.
  • Versatile PvE farming — running Ashen Wanderer 2pc (+15% XP+gold potential) alongside Ember Plate 2pc (+10% STR) is often better than completing either full set at T2–T3.
  • Transitional builds — while grinding toward a target set, mixing 2pc bonuses from available pieces is always optimal over wearing incomplete set pieces with no bonus.

TIP

The Eternity Plate 2-piece (+25% DEF, +15% HP) is widely considered the strongest 2-piece bonus in the game. Any tank or semi-tank build should prioritize getting at least 2 Eternity Plate pieces, even while running another set for the 4 or 6-piece bonus.
