Random Invasion

Random Invasion

Monday 06:00 UTC — 4 hours

A massive horde of Corrupted monsters surges into one randomly selected region of Aeternum. The invaded region is announced 30 minutes before the event starts, giving players time to prepare. All monster spawn rates in the invaded region increase 3× and all monsters gain Corruption Tier 2 stats.

Mechanics

  • Region selection: Random from 6 eligible regions (Ashwood Grove, Murkmoor Fens, Hollowstone Village, Grayspire Peaks, Scorched Ridgeline, Necropolis Ruins)
  • Invasion meter: A server-wide meter fills as players kill Corrupted invaders. At 100%, an Invasion Boss spawns (unique to each region)
  • Invasion Boss: A mini-boss stronger than standard bosses but weaker than World Bosses; drops Invasion Tokens (×3–8 depending on damage contribution)
  • PvP rules: Invasion zones are PvP-flagged for the duration. Killing another player during invasion rewards 5 Invasion Tokens

Rewards

  • Invasion Tokens exchanged at Invasion Vendor for: Corrupted Gear Fragments, Rune Scrolls (681–685), Corruption Cosmetics
  • Leaderboard: Top 10 damage dealers against the Invasion Boss receive Legendary Invasion Chest (guaranteed epic+ item)
  • All participants who deal any damage to Invasion Boss receive Standard Invasion Chest

World Boss

World Boss

Daily 12:00 UTC — 2 hours

A server-wide boss with a shared HP pool appears at a fixed location in Aeternum. All players on the server can attack the boss simultaneously. The boss's HP scales with the number of active players on the server at spawn time, ensuring the fight is always a challenge regardless of server population.

Mechanics

  • Shared HP: Every player's attack reduces the same HP pool. No instancing — everyone is fighting the same boss
  • Damage contribution: The game tracks each player's total damage dealt to the boss as a percentage of total damage
  • Phase transitions: World Bosses have 3–5 phases (same as dungeon bosses). Phase transitions trigger server announcements visible to all players
  • Enrage timer: If the boss is not defeated within 2 hours, it enters permanent Enrage (+100% ATK, +50% DEF) until killed or the event ends
  • Both races participate: PvP is disabled in the World Boss zone — vampires and werewolves fight side by side

War Zone

War Zone

Wednesday 18:00 UTC — 6 hours

The War Zone event transforms a designated multi-zone region into a full PvP battleground. Vampires and werewolves compete to capture and hold territory zones for their faction. Territory held at the end of 6 hours determines the winning faction for the week, granting server-wide bonuses.

Mechanics

  • Territory points: 5 capturable points spread across the War Zone map. Each point held grants 1 point per minute to your faction
  • Capture mechanic: Stand on a capture point for 60 seconds while outnumbering defenders to flip it
  • PvP bonuses in War Zone: All PvP damage +20%; PvP kills grant 10 War Points + 50 Gold + Rep +100 to primary faction
  • Supply crates: Appear every 30 minutes at random map locations, granting bonus War Points and items to the first player to open them
  • Respawn: No PvP protection timers in War Zone; respawn in 60 seconds at faction base

Rewards & Leaderboard

  • Winning faction: All players on the winning side receive server buff "+10% gold, +10% XP" for 48 hours after the event
  • Individual leaderboard (War Points): Top 3 receive Faction War Chest (set item + 1,000 Gold); Top 4–20 receive Standard War Chest
  • Territory reward: Holding a territory point at event end grants Faction Token ×3 for that territory's associated faction

Treasure Hunt

Treasure Hunt

Thursday 10:00 UTC — 3 hours (Bi-weekly)

Every two weeks, a series of cryptic clues appear in the Event tab leading to hidden treasure caches scattered across all regions. The Treasure Hunt is the only world event with no combat requirement — it rewards exploration, puzzle-solving, and map knowledge.

Mechanics

  • Clue chain: Players receive a unique first clue at event start. Following the clue chain leads to a region-specific cache
  • Cache types: Bronze Cache (common loot), Silver Cache (uncommon/rare loot), Gold Cache (rare/epic loot + Rune Scrolls), Mythic Cache (1 per event, first finder only)
  • Both races compete: PvP is disabled during Treasure Hunt — the race to find caches is the competition
  • Cache respawn: Bronze and Silver caches respawn every 30 minutes. Gold and Mythic caches spawn once per event
  • Clue difficulty scales with player level: Level 1–30 players receive simpler clues; level 60+ players receive harder clues pointing to higher-tier caches

Rewards

Cache TypeContents
Bronze Cache100–300 Gold; Common/Uncommon items; 50–150 XP
Silver Cache300–800 Gold; Rare items; Rune (random); 200–400 XP

Corruption System

Corruption is a persistent world mechanic that spreads from Corruption Zones — dark areas of Aeternum where the barrier between dimensions has weakened. Corruption makes monsters stronger and more rewarding, but if left unchecked it can spread across entire regions.

Spread Mechanics

  • Corruption spreads every 6 hours from active Corruption Zones to adjacent sub-regions
  • Each zone has a Corruption Level (0–4 matching Taint/Corrupt/Defile/Abyssal tiers)
  • A zone at Level 4 (Abyssal) will begin spreading to adjacent zones, potentially creating a chain reaction
  • Corruption never spreads to capital cities or Dungeon entrances

Cleansing Corruption

  • During Random Invasion events: Killing the Invasion Boss reduces the invaded region's Corruption Level by 1
  • Corruption Cleanse Items: Craftable via Alchemy at level 6+. Consuming one in a corrupted zone reduces that zone's level by 1 (5-minute cast, cannot be interrupted)
  • Cleanse rewards: Each successful cleanse grants 20 Corruption Tokens + 200 Rep with 2 random factions
  • Corruption Tokens are exchanged at the Corruption Vendor (found in capitals) for exclusive cosmetics, Tier 3–4 Corruption monster-specific gear, and Rune Scrolls

WARNING

If a region reaches full Abyssal corruption (Level 4 in all sub-zones), its faction vendor becomes inaccessible and all quests in that region are suspended until corruption is reduced. This can block faction reputation gain for affected players.

Seasonal Events

Four major seasonal events occur annually, each lasting 2–3 weeks. Seasonal events add new quests, cosmetics, limited currency, and temporary world modifiers that do not appear outside the event window.

Event Period World Modifier Unique Currency Exclusive Rewards
Blood Moon Late October (2 weeks) All vampires gain +15% ATK; moon visibility doubles crit range for werewolves at night Crimson Shards Blood Moon Armor skin; Bat familiar cosmetic; Blood Moon Rune Scroll
Eclipse War Late June (3 weeks) Full PvP across all zones (not just War Zone); PvP rewards tripled; Eclipse Corruption spreads 2× faster Eclipse Marks Eclipse Warlord Title; Eclipse Plate (cosmetic set); Eclipse Boss pet
Halloween (All Hallows) Oct 25 – Nov 3 Special Haunted Dungeon available (unique boss, Cat 3–6 scaled); candy drops from all monsters Candy Coins Jack-o'-Lantern helmet skin; Ghost mount cosmetic; Haunted Dungeon exclusive gear
Winter Solstice Dec 18 – Jan 2 Snow cover all regions; cold damage +20% for all; Ice monsters added to Cat 1–3 spawn tables Frost Crystals Winter Regalia cosmetic set; Snowwolf mount skin; Frost Stone (ID 503) recipe unlocked permanently

How Seasonal Events Work

  • Seasonal event quests replace some daily quests during the event window but do not remove normal faction dailies
  • Seasonal currency is earned from event quests, event-specific monsters, and event dungeon runs
  • Seasonal currency expires 7 days after the event ends — spend it before the deadline
  • Cosmetic items from seasonal events are permanent once acquired; they do not expire
  • Some seasonal rewards recur each year (cosmetics, gear skins); others are one-time exclusives marked "Legacy" and cannot be re-earned in future years

TIP

The Eclipse War seasonal event is the single best PvP leveling and reputation opportunity in the game. With tripled PvP rewards across all zones, a 3-week active participation period can earn as much reputation and gear as 3 months of regular play.
