The Origin — The Fracture

A thousand years ago, the Kingdom of Aeternum stood as a beacon of uneasy peace. Vampires — lords of shadow and blood — coexisted with Werewolves, the primal guardians of the ancient forests. Two races, united under a single pact sealed by the Blood Moon Crystal, a relic of immense power said to be forged from the first moonlight to ever fall upon the earth.

Then came the Night of the Great Fracture. A cataclysm — some say caused by a vampire lord consumed by ambition, others blame a werewolf shaman driven mad by the moon — shattered the Crystal into seven fragments. The pact shattered with it.

Now, a millennium later, the war has never ended. Each race believes it alone is worthy of the Crystal's seven fragments — and the absolute dominion they promise. Into this ancient conflict, you are born.

The Two Races

Vampires
Aristocrats of the night — ancient, cunning, and brutal. Vampires command the powers of blood and shadow, draining life from enemies to fuel their own immortality.

Werewolves
Primal warriors shaped by the moon's fury. Werewolves rely on raw strength, endurance, and the savage instincts passed down from the first beasts of Aeternum.
  • Natural regen — +2% HP restored each turn
  • +30% power under full moon events
  • Highest physical STR and DEF
  • Multi-hit claw attacks, berserk mode

Regions of Aeternum

Aeternum is a continent of perpetual twilight — a world where day never fully comes. Ten distinct regions await your conquest, each with unique monsters, secrets, and lore fragments.

Shadow Vale
The starting lands. Ancient ruins where fledgling warriors take their first steps.
Darkwood Forest
An endless forest of black pines. The birthplace of the first Werewolves.
Castle Nocturne
A massive fortress of obsidian. The ancestral home of the Vampire nobility.
Iron Peaks
Treacherous mountain passes patrolled by Stone Giants and elder beasts.
The Gravefields
A battlefield of a forgotten war. Undead rise endlessly from the cursed soil.
Ashfen Swamp
Poisonous marshlands hiding swamp creatures and ancient alchemical secrets.
Ember Wastes
Scorched plains where demon-kin dwell near the volcanic Hellgate.
The Dead Coast
Crumbling sea cliffs where ghost pirates and sea spirits haunt the mist.
Web of Shades
Underground caverns thick with spider webs and ancient shadow demons.
Blood Moon Sanctum
The final realm. Home to legendary beasts and fragments of the shattered Crystal.

The Blood Moon Crystal is forged
Vampires and Werewolves form the Great Pact of Aeternum, sealing it with the Crystal's power.
YEAR 347 — THE FRACTURE
The Crystal shatters into seven fragments
A catastrophic event fractures the Crystal and breaks the Pact. The eternal war begins.

Shadow Vale falls to conflict
Three Crystal fragments are lost to time. Both races retreat to fortified territories.

Why We Built This

Browser games used to be the great equaliser — no GPU required, no download, just a link and imagination. But the genre stagnated: pay-to-win shops, dead communities, 2009-era UIs.

We wanted to build something different — a dark fantasy MMO with real depth, fair monetisation, and a community that doesn't feel like a ghost town. Vampires vs. Werewolves is a passion project that grew into a full game engine built from scratch.

No investors, no crunch culture. Just a small team obsessed with making the browser RPG we always wanted to play.
