The Crimson Wastes Endgame · Lv 45–60+
Where the kingdom died, nothing grows but salt and violence. The Crimson Wastes are the endgame region of Aeternum — a scorched plateau of red salt flats, bone dunes and the ruined old capital, where elite Ashborne packs, three world bosses, and open-world PvP make every step a wager.
The capital stood here, once. When the Sundering came it did not fall so much as it burned inward, the whole city collapsing into a single day of fire that salted the earth for a hundred miles. What the maps call the Crimson Wastes is that scar — red not with blood but with the salt the fire left behind, though the two are hard to tell apart by dusk. The Ashborne walk it still, revenants of citizens who never finished dying, and above them the two factions circle, because whoever holds the ruined heart of the old world holds the war.
"There is no farming the Wastes. There is only surviving them long enough to leave richer than you came." — Sanguthar, before he was what he is now
Geography & Hazards
Text map of the Crimson Wastes: A wide open plateau with a lethal off-road interior and relatively safe roads connecting three landmarks.
- Southwest gate — The Ashgate Waystone: The only safe entry, at the road in from Ironhollow. Attune here first.
- Center — The Ruined Spire: The collapsed old capital. Ashborne Reaver packs and the world boss Sanguthar the Bloodgorged.
- East — The Bone Dunes: Shifting dunes of ash and bone. Home to the world boss Feralax the Ash-Tyrant.
- North — The Red Salt Flats: A blinding salt plain where the Salt Leviathan surfaces on the daily reset. Constant hazard terrain.
- Roads: Raised causeways link the gate, spire and dunes. Off the roads, hazards apply — stay on them until geared.

Sanguthar and Feralax are the faction-lord bosses — a fallen vampire and a corrupted werewolf alpha whose control flips daily during the Eclipse War. The Salt Leviathan is the region's world-tier encounter, requiring a full raid: it surfaces only at daily reset and drops the best gear in the game alongside the Eclipse Token used for endgame currency.
Farming & Loot Notes
- Best sustained farm: Ashborne Reaver packs near the Ruined Spire (Lv 52) — dense Epic drops and Ashborne Cinders for legendary crafting.
- Best burst value: The three world-boss chests on daily reset — Legendary gear and Eclipse Tokens.
- Rare-elite hunt: Cinder Colossi on the Salt Flats drop legendary weapon tokens but roam the most hazardous terrain — bring a group and fire resistance.
- Currency: Eclipse Tokens from the Salt Leviathan buy endgame vendor gear; farm the Leviathan on reset with a raid.
- Survival rule: Never fight off the roads below level 55 or without hazard resistance — the environment kills faster than the mobs.
The Eclipse War
The Crimson Wastes are the stage for the Eclipse War, the recurring endgame event that turns the whole region into an open-world PvP battleground. During its window all three world bosses spawn, PvP is always on, and the faction that controls the most boss spawns at the end of the phase earns server-wide rewards. This page is themed with the Blood Moon event to reflect the Wastes during an active Eclipse phase.
