Dodge, Block & Parry Explained
Three avoidance mechanics: Dodge (full damage avoid, AGI-scaling), Block (50% damage reduction, requires shield), Parry (full avoid + counter-attack, requires melee weapon). They roll in sequence: dodge first, block next, parry last.
Dodge — when AGI matters most
Dodge chance = 3% + AGI × 0.4% + class modifier (Shadow Assassin +5%, Pack Shaman 0%). Full damage avoid; doesn't trigger on-hit effects. Best stat for glass-cannon survivability.
Block — shield-only
Requires shield in offhand slot. Block chance = 5% + DEF × 0.3% + shield-quality bonus. Reduces damage 50% rather than full avoid; on-hit effects still trigger but at half power. Tank build foundation.
Parry — melee counter-attack
Requires melee weapon (no bows). Parry chance = 2% + STR × 0.4% + duelist talent. Full avoid plus 75% basic-attack counter. Highest skill-floor of the three because it requires reading enemy patterns.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a single attack trigger all three?
No — sequential rolls. First successful avoid stops the chain.
Do dodge/block/parry work in PvP?
Yes — same formula. Most ladder players invest in one, not all three.
What hard-counters dodge?
'Always-hit' skills (e.g., Shadow Assassin's Mark) bypass dodge. Block and parry still apply.
