Cooldown System Explained
Skills have turn-based cooldowns (1-8 turns typical) plus a global cooldown (GCD) of 1 turn between any two active skills. Cooldown reduction (CDR) stat reduces both, soft-capped at 30%. Out-of-combat resets all cooldowns after 30 seconds of no combat action.
Per-skill cooldowns
Tier-1 skills: 1-2 turns. Tier-3 skills: 3-5 turns. Tier-5 ultimates: 6-8 turns. Cooldowns start ticking when the skill is used, not when it lands. Interrupted casts don't trigger cooldown.
Global cooldown
After any active skill, 1-turn GCD before another active. Basic attacks ignore GCD. Passive procs ignore GCD. Use the GCD turn for movement, items, or basic attack — don't waste it.
Cooldown reduction (CDR)
CDR stat: each 1% reduces all cooldowns by 1%. Soft cap 30% (above costs 3× per point). Stack on caster classes; less impactful on tanks. CDR runes typically add 3-10% per slot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does CDR affect ultimate skills?
Yes, but they have a separate hard cap (max 50% CDR on ultimates).
Can I skip GCD with consumables?
Some Master Tactician runes allow one GCD bypass per fight.
Why didn't my skill go on cooldown?
Probably interrupted mid-cast (silence, stun, dispel). Failed casts don't trigger CD.
