8 Rarest Items in VvW:
How to Get Each One
Some players have logged over 1,000 hours and never seen these drop. Here's every known acquisition method, including the ones the game doesn't tell you about.
About Rarity in VvW
VvW has six rarity tiers: Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic. The items on this list sit at the extreme end of Legendary and the entire Mythic tier — a category that contains only 12 items in the entire game. Less than 0.8% of the player base owns any Mythic item.
Drop rates listed here are based on community data from 50,000+ tracked kills and dungeon runs across the VvW Discord research channels.
A legendary helmet that radiates an aura of pure blood energy. Grants +300 AP, +25% life steal, and the unique passive "Elder's Dominion": all vampire skills cost 30% less blood essence. Visually displays a crimson crown effect above your character visible to all nearby players.
Drops from Vlad the Ancient, the world boss that spawns once every 72 hours in the Crimson Citadel. Requires a raid group of 15–20 players to defeat. The 0.003% applies to the entire raid — not per player. Track his spawn timer through the World Boss page. Your best strategy: join every Vlad kill available and accept that this may take months.
The chest armor of the original pack. +250 DEF, +800 HP, and the passive "Pack Eternal": when HP falls below 20%, trigger an automatic 40% HP heal (1-hour cooldown). Considered the single best survivability item in the game for Werewolf characters.
Drops from Fenrir the Eternal, the Werewolf equivalent world boss. Also spawns in the Moonveil Wastes every 72 hours. Unlike Vlad's Citadel, Fenrir's arena requires exactly 20 players — over-filling the instance reduces drop rate by 50%. Coordinate headcount carefully.
A weapon forged in the shadow realm. +420 ATK, +35% crit chance, and the proc "Shadow Step": 8% chance on attack to teleport behind the target and deliver a guaranteed critical strike. The only weapon in the game that can exceed the 85% crit cap via Shadow Step's forced crit mechanic.
The Dagger appears only in the Mythic+20 weekly vault. Completing a +20 key guarantees a vault slot at the Mythic tier — but the Dagger is 1 of 12 possible Mythic items, each with ~0.01% weight. You need to clear M+20 consistently, which requires a top-tier coordinated group. The path: build a static group, push from M+15 to M+20 over 3–4 weeks.
An offhand trinket that converts 8% of all damage dealt into health. Unique in being the only item that scales life steal from AP-based attacks, making it the cornerstone of Blood Mage arena builds. The 8% applies after all multipliers.
Crafted by Alchemy at skill level 90+. Requires 3 Void Shards (floor 70+ Tower drops), 1 Ancient Blood Crystal (Vlad kill guaranteed drop), and 5 Moonstone Fragments (Fenrir kill guaranteed drop). The assembly requires the schematic "Phylactery Awakening" which drops at 0.08% from any Mythic+ chest. Most players buy it on the auction house rather than farming — at ~85,000 gold, it's attainable through dedicated farming over 4–6 weeks.
A two-handed weapon that grants +380 ATK and the aura ability "War Howl": all clan members within 30 meters gain +12% ATK and +8% DEF for 20 seconds (5-minute cooldown). One of the few items with a persistent group buff, making it a clan war staple.
Has a 0.12% chance to drop from the Clan War Victory Chest — the chest your clan earns for winning a war. You must be in a winning clan and personally log in to claim the chest within 24 hours of war resolution. Clans that win consistently (top-100 ranked) see this drop roughly once every 25–30 wars.
A back-slot cosmetic with stat benefits: +180 DEX, +25% dodge cap increase (from 60% to 85%), and unique visual — a trailing animated shadow effect that follows your character. One of two items that can push dodge above 60%.
Drops only from the Infinity Tower floor 100 completion chest, at 0.15% chance. You must reach floor 100 in the same weekly reset — partial progress doesn't count. Floor 100 requires Prestige 2+ and near-optimal gear. Estimated time to farm: 80–150 weekly clears (1.5–3 years of consistent play). Many players consider this the true "unicorn" item of VvW.
A trinket awarded at season end to players who finish at 4200+ ELO with a corrupted (dark) alignment. Grants +50 to all primary stats and the visual "Corrupted Aura" effect. Functionally minor; the value is prestige — it proves Grand Legend rank in a past season.
Reach 4200+ ELO with Corrupted alignment before season end. Corrupted alignment requires completing the Corruption questline and maintaining dark choices throughout. The 0.2% isn't a drop chance — it's the approximate percentage of players who achieve 4200+ ELO per season. See the Grand Legend guide for the climb strategy.
A staff that boosts AP by 280 and grants the passive "Lunar Weave": ability damage has a 12% chance to apply a Moonfire DoT that deals 15% of AP as damage per second for 8 seconds. The Moonfire effect can stack up to 3 times, making this staff the highest theoretical DPS weapon for Blood Mages in prolonged fights.
Available exclusively during the Ancient Ritual seasonal event, which runs for 2 weeks twice per year (around spring and autumn equinoxes). During the event, completing the 5-part ritual questchain gives one roll at the 0.3% drop table. You get exactly 2 rolls per event cycle. Most owners bought it on the auction house — at 34,000 gold it's the most accessible item on this list.
Tradeable rare items are cheapest immediately after a major game update (players sell to fund new-patch gear) and most expensive right before seasonal events end (FOMO buying). Buy in the first week of a new patch; sell in the last week of an event.
The eight items above represent the pinnacle of what's obtainable in VvW. For most players, 1–3 items from this list is a realistic lifetime collection. Focus on the tradeable ones first (Bloodstone Phylactery, War Standard, Moonweaver Staff) — they're achievable through gold farming rather than pure luck.
