Crafting Categories

VvW has 5 crafting categories, each requiring a different workbench:

  • Smithing (Forge workbench) — weapons, heavy armor, shields
  • Tailoring (Loom workbench) — cloth armor, accessories
  • Alchemy (Alchemist Stand) — potions, elixirs, poisons
  • Runecrafting (Runic Altar) — enchantments, rune scrolls
  • Bloodsmithing (Blood Forge, vampire-only) — vampire-specific equipment using prime vitae

You can level all categories, but most players specialize in 1–2 and buy from the AH for the rest.

Crafting Skill Levels

Each category goes from Skill 1 to 100. Milestones:

  • Skill 1–25 (Apprentice): Basic recipes, common-quality output
  • Skill 26–50 (Journeyman): Uncommon recipes unlock, first quality bonuses
  • Skill 51–75 (Expert): Rare recipes, item specialization bonuses
  • Skill 76–99 (Master): Epic recipes, crafted gear rivals dungeon drops
  • Skill 100 (Grandmaster): Legendary recipes, best gear in the game for most slots

How to Level Crafting Quickly

Craft items that are just at the edge of your skill level (shown in orange in the recipe list). Items that are too easy (green) give minimal XP. Items at the right difficulty give maximum XP per material spent.

Fastest method: buy bulk materials from the AH, craft 100 of the highest-difficulty item available at your skill level, sell or dismantle the output.

Quality System

Every crafted item can be Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, or Legendary quality. Base success rate for your skill level's items is 40% for the next tier. Modifiers:

  • Masterwork Dust (+15% quality chance per use, stackable to 3×)
  • Artisan's Focus (consumable, +25% quality chance for next 5 crafts)
  • Grandmaster Bonus (Skill 100 passive, base quality rate becomes 60%)

Most Profitable Items to Craft (May 2026)

  • Void Essence Potion (Alchemy Skill 70+): Materials cost ~400 gold, sells for 800–1,200 gold. High demand from dungeon runners.
  • Enchanted Blood Shackles (Bloodsmithing Skill 80+, vampire only): Materials cost ~2,000 gold, sells for 5,000–8,000 gold.
  • Moon-Touched Ward Rune (Runecrafting Skill 65+): Materials cost ~600 gold, sells for 1,500–2,500 gold.

💡 Tip: Specialize Early

Players who specialize in Alchemy or Runecrafting tend to have the highest crafting income because consumables are always in demand — every player uses them every day, regardless of their own crafting skill.
