Blood Moon Mythology
The mythological and cultural significance of the Blood Moon in VvW's world lore.
The Blood Moon is not simply a celestial event in VvW's mythology — it is believed to be the physical manifestation of the Void Chalice's cosmic wound. Every 28 days, when the moon aligns with the Chalice's resonance frequency, it turns crimson and empowers all vampire and void energy. The Blood Moon Cult worships it as a deity. The Conclave sees it as a corruption threat. The Eclipse Council monitors it as a dimensional stability indicator. Players experience the Blood Moon as a 48-hour content window, but the in-world stakes are existential.
