What Resets (Permanently Lost)
- Character level. It returns to 1.
- Quest progress on active quests. Complete or abandon these before prestiging.
- Temporary buffs and consumable effects.
What You KEEP
- All inventory items, gear, and stored equipment.
- All gold in your inventory and bank.
- Crafting skills, across all 5 categories.
- Faction reputation with all factions.
- Achievements and titles.
- Guild membership and rank.
- Purchased skills. Class abilities bought with Skill Points are refunded, and they re-unlock the next time you spend those points.
Permanent Prestige Bonuses
🏆 Prestige Tier Rewards
- Prestige 1: +15% XP from all sources, plus the Prestige Aura cosmetic (visible to others) and access to the Prestige-only gear vendor.
- Prestige 2: +10% gold from all sources, +5% drop rate, and a Prestige 2 title and cosmetic.
- Prestige 3: +5% all stats permanently, access to Prestige-only questlines, and a unique cosmetic set.
- Prestige 4: Unlocks the Prestige subclass, a 4th subclass option unavailable to non-prestige players.
- Prestige 5: Grandmaster title, +10% all stats (stacks with P3), and access to the Prestige Council faction with its own questline.
Checklist Before Prestiging
- Complete or abandon all active quests with meaningful rewards.
- Spend all accumulated Skill Points. They are refunded, but you won't be able to use them until the appropriate level.
- Clear your mail inbox. Mail items are lost if they sit over 30 days old.
- Stock up on XP boosters (Blood Moon Elixirs) to speed up the re-level.
- Store your gear in your bank instead of leaving it equipped. Equipped gear is kept but useless at level 1.
Work through this checklist before confirming Prestige. Skipping a step here is the most common source of avoidable Prestige regret.
Optimal Prestige Timing
Most veterans recommend prestiging during a Blood Moon event, since it gives an active XP bonus on re-level, and only after completing the current content tier. Don't prestige mid-patch-cycle if you're active in competitive content. The level reset temporarily removes you from PvP viability.
How Long to Re-Level?
With the Prestige 1 XP bonus (+15%) and efficient leveling, re-level times look like this:
- First playthrough, no bonus: 14–21 days of active play.
- Prestige 1 re-level: 10–16 days.
- Prestige 2 re-level, with both bonuses stacked: 7–12 days.
- Prestige 3+ re-level: 5–8 days.
