XP Source Priority Order
Not all XP sources are equal. Here's the priority order by XP-per-hour (XPH), assuming you're at the appropriate level range:
- Daily Quests (all 8) — highest total XP but limited to once per day; always do these first
- Dungeon runs (×10 daily cap) — consistent XP, great for gear simultaneously
- Faction War quests — 2× XP during active Faction War events
- World Boss kills — large XP burst, 3 respawns per day
- Story questline — do these on day 1–3 to unlock systems; XPH drops later
- Open-world grinding — lowest XPH but available always; use as filler
Daily Quest Strategy
The 8 daily quests are your single most important activity. Key rules:
- Complete all 8 in the same session to trigger the Completion Bonus (+25% XP on the final quest)
- Start with the quests nearest to each other geographically to minimize travel time
- The "Patrol" and "Hunt" quests overlap in objective areas — complete them simultaneously
- Use your fastest travel method (Shadow Travel for vampires, sprint for werewolves)
- Total daily quest time: 35–45 minutes for an efficient run
💡 The Daily Reset Trick
Daily quests reset at 00:00 UTC. If you complete your dailies at 23:30 UTC, you can complete them again at 00:01 UTC for double the daily XP — though this requires staying up until reset.
XP Multiplier Stacking
VvW has several XP multipliers that stack multiplicatively (not additively). All active at the same time:
- Rested XP — log out in a Sanctuary zone (inn/safe house) to accumulate up to 100% bonus XP over time (capped at 2 levels worth)
- Blood Moon Elixir — +50% XP for 1 hour (craftable or purchasable in the shop)
- Guild XP Banner — +15% XP in guild territory if your guild has upgraded this structure
- Faction Minority Bonus — +8% XP if your faction is in the minority (check current status on the server page)
- Prestige Bonus — if a friend who has prestiged refers you, you gain their Prestige Aura bonus (+5% per prestige tier, up to +25%)
Maximum possible stack: Rested (2×) × Elixir (1.5×) × Guild (1.15×) × Minority (1.08×) × Prestige (1.25×) = approximately 4.7× base XP.
Dungeon Rotation
Dungeons award XP on completion and for each boss kill. The 10-run daily cap means you want the fastest dungeons, not the hardest:
- Levels 1–25: Shadow Crypts (12 min average, 3 bosses)
- Levels 26–50: Ashwood Depths (18 min, 4 bosses) — or Moonstone Cavern with a good group (14 min)
- Levels 51–75: Crimson Halls (22 min, 5 bosses)
- Levels 76–99: Void Breach (30 min, 6 bosses) — highest XP per run
Run with a fixed group when possible — group bonus applies and faster clear times compound over 10 runs.
The 7-Day Sprint Method
Used by the server's fastest levelers. Requires approximately 4–5 hours of active play per day:
- Day 1: Complete story quests through Chapter 3 (unlocks all systems), then do daily quests with Rested XP active
- Day 2–3: Daily quests + 10 dungeon runs + 3 world boss kills each day. Stock Blood Moon Elixirs.
- Day 4: Faction War is typically active on day 4 of the cycle — prioritize faction quests for 2× XP
- Day 5–6: Push dungeon tier to your level bracket, maintain daily quests, use all stored elixirs
- Day 7: Final sprint — all elixirs, Rested XP (log out in inn overnight day 6), guild banner up. Aim for level 100 by end of session
