Define Your Playstyle First

Before searching, identify what you actually want from a clan:

  • Mythic+ progression: Need a clan with a regular M+ team and at minimum M+10 current clears
  • PvP / Clan Wars: Need a competitive clan with Clan War organization — look for top-200 server ranking
  • Casual social: Need a clan that doesn't punish inactivity and has friendly chat — Clan Level matters less
  • Economy/Crafting: Need a clan with a funded clan bank and active traders — look for Trade-focused clan type
  • Endgame Legendaries: Need a clan running world bosses weekly and coordinating Eclipse Sanctum (Blood Moon event dungeon)

How to Evaluate a Clan

🤝 Clan Quality Checklist

  • Active member count: 20+ active members (logged in within 7 days). Ignore total member count — check active count in the clan profile.
  • Clan Level 6+: Level 6 unlocks Clan Bank Tier 3 and the Clan Training Grounds (+5% XP for all members).
  • Consistent Clan War record: Check their recent 10 wars. A 7/10 win rate is good; a 3/10 is a poorly organized clan.
  • Has an active officer: Message the recruiting officer — response within 24 hours signals an engaged leadership team.
  • Red flag: Full member list (50/50) with low activity: Ghost members never removed = leadership doesn't maintain the clan.
  • Red flag: Multiple officer vacancies: Officers left recently = internal conflict or disorganized leadership.
  • Red flag: Clan created within the last 2 weeks: New clans have no track record and high dissolution rate.

How to Stand Out in Your Application

Top clans receive many applications. A generic "I want to join" gets ignored. Instead:

  1. Show your stats: "Item Level 95, Shadow Assassin, cleared M+12 last week" is concrete and verifiable. Vague claims ("I'm a good player") are not.
  2. Show your schedule: "Available evenings UTC+2, 15+ hours per week" tells them if you'll match their activity times — a critical fit factor.
  3. Show specific interest: "I saw you run Eclipse Sanctum — I want to join that team specifically" shows you read their clan profile, not just spam-applied to 20 clans.
  4. Mention what you bring: Healers and tanks are almost always in demand. If you play a support role, lead with it. DPS players should show Mythic+ keys or PvP rank instead.

Levels and Item Level Requirements

Most clans have unstated Item Level expectations. As a guide:

  • Casual clans: No requirement, any level welcome
  • Mid-tier clans: Level 70+, Item Level 80+ expected
  • Progression clans: Level 90+, Item Level 90+ (Epic gear), active Mythic+ history expected
  • Top competitive clans: Level 100, Item Level 100+ (mix of Epic and Legendary), Diamond PvP rank or M+15 clear history required

Apply to clans one tier below your current progression — you'll get accepted and have room to grow rather than being carried.

After Joining: Make a Strong Start

  1. Introduce yourself in clan chat on your first day — most clans have a short "who are you / what do you play" tradition
  2. Check the clan bank and contribute before withdrawing
  3. Sign up for the next scheduled event — showing up to your first organized activity is the single fastest way to build trust
  4. Don't ask for officer rank, vault access, or special permissions within the first week — this is the #1 red flag for leadership
