Enchantment Tiers and Success Rates
- +1 to +4: 80-90% success rate. Failure reduces enchant level by 1 (never destroys item). Safe to attempt without scrolls.
- +5 to +7: 50-65% success rate. Failure reduces enchant level by 1–2. Item is damaged but not destroyed.
- +8 to +10: 30-45% success rate. Failure at these levels can destroy the item entirely without Safeguard Scroll.
- +11 to +15: 15-25% success rate. Always use Safeguard Scroll + Enchantment Catalyst. High cost, significant power gain.
Safeguard Scrolls
Safeguard Scrolls prevent item destruction on enchantment failure. They do NOT guarantee success — they only prevent the worst outcome. Mandatory for:
- Any enchantment attempt at +8 or higher
- Any Legendary or Epic item (the replacement cost makes destruction unacceptable)
Safeguard Scrolls cost 500–2,000 gold each depending on tier. Available from Runecrafting vendors and the Auction House.
Cost-Effective Strategy
The most efficient approach for a new player:
- Enchant all gear to +4 without any scrolls (cheap, 80-90% success)
- Use Safeguard Scrolls for +5 to +7 on your weapon and chest (highest stat contribution slots)
- Stop at +7 until you have the gold for a complete push to +10 on your BiS gear
- Never attempt +8 to +10 on non-BiS gear — you will replace that gear before enchanting pays off
Enchantment Types
✨ Choose the Right Enchantment
- Offensive (Blood Rune, Moon Rune): +% damage to main stat. Best for DPS classes.
- Defensive (Ward Rune, Iron Rune): +% physical or magical resistance. Best for tanks.
- Utility (Swift Rune, Fortune Rune): +% movement speed or drop rate. Best for gatherers/traders.
- Hybrid (Eclipse Rune): Splits bonus between offense and defense. Best for PvP hybrids.
Best Slots to Prioritize
Not all gear slots benefit equally from enchantment. Priority order by stat contribution:
- Weapon (highest per-enchant-level gain)
- Chest armor (second highest)
- Helm and legs (equal, third priority)
- Boots, gloves, belt (diminishing returns — enchant last)
- Accessories (rings, amulets — enchant only at endgame)
Daily Enchantment Bonus
Each day a different item type receives a +10% success rate bonus (shown in the Enchantment Table UI as a highlighted category). Plan your enchantment sessions around this rotation — it makes a meaningful difference at +8 to +10.
