Vampire Assassin Complete Guide 2026 — Skills, Gear & Rotation
Master the Vampire Assassin in 2026 — full skill tree, best-in-slot gear, PvP rotation, and tips from top-ranked players.
The Vampire Assassin subclass is called Shadow Assassin in-game. It trades survivability for pure burst damage. The passive alone gives +30 DEX and +25% crit chance. It also adds +15% dodge. In return, you take a -20% HP penalty and a -15% DEF penalty. This is a glass-cannon build. Play it aggressively, not defensively.
Shadow Assassin Skill Tree
The skill tree unlocks in five tiers as you level up. Here is every skill, in order:
- Veil Strike (level 30, 1 point) — Teleport to the target and strike for 220% ATK. Always a guaranteed critical hit.
- Poison Fang (level 32, 1 point) — Strike for 160% ATK. Also applies poison dealing 25% HP over 5 turns.
- Shadow Ambush (level 35, 2 points) — Deals 300% ATK, but only if the enemy has not attacked this turn.
- Evasion Mastery (level 38, 2 points, passive) — Adds +40% dodge chance whenever your HP falls below 50%.
- Death Mark (level 42, 3 points) — Marks the enemy. They take +30% damage from your next 3 attacks.
- Shadow Execution (level 45, 3 points) — Strikes for 400% ATK. Instantly kills enemies below 30% HP.
- Blade Flurry (level 50, 4 points) — Unleashes 10 rapid strikes, each dealing 80% ATK. Each strike can crit on its own.
- Cloak of Night (level 55, 4 points) — Turns you invisible for 2 turns, then bursts out for 350% ATK.
- Vanishing Act (level 65, 5 points) — Skips your turn, but the next turn deals 150% of your DEX as bonus damage.
- Death's Embrace (level 80, 6 points) — Deals 600% ATK as a guaranteed critical hit. Instantly kills targets below 20% HP.
Recommended PvP Rotation
Open with Veil Strike for a guaranteed crit and instant gap-close. Follow up with Poison Fang to start the damage-over-time tick. Use Death Mark before your big hits, since the extra 30% damage stacks well with crits. Save Shadow Execution or Death's Embrace for the finish, once the target drops below the HP thresholds.
Against tanky targets, lead with Shadow Ambush if they haven't acted yet — 300% ATK for free is hard to pass up. Against squishier targets, skip straight to burst: Veil Strike into Blade Flurry closes most fights in two turns.
Gear and Playstyle Tips
- Prioritize DEX and crit-chance gear. The base kit already leans hard into critical hits, so stacking more compounds fast.
- Watch your HP bar closely. The passive HP penalty means you die faster than other classes if you get caught out of position.
- Use Cloak of Night defensively when a fight goes wrong, not just offensively. Two turns of invisibility can reset a losing exchange.
- Time Evasion Mastery's dodge window by baiting big hits below 50% HP rather than sitting there passively.
