We ranked all 12 legendary heroes from S to C tier. The rankings come from Arena win-rate data pulled from the top 500 players. Win rate is not the whole story, though. A hero's role, how easy they are to play, and how well they fit different team comps all matter too. Use this list as a starting point, then adjust it for your own playstyle.
🏆 S-Tier (must-have if you have access)
Only two heroes earned S-tier. Both post win rates well above the field, and both are strong in almost any team.
| Hero | Faction | Role | Win Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fenris Alpha | 🐺 Werewolf | Pack Leader Hybrid | 67% |
| Alistair Blackthorn | 🧛 Vampire | Burst DPS | 64% |
Fenris Alpha leads a pack and fights as a hybrid, so he can tank, deal damage, and buff nearby allies. Alistair Blackthorn is a pure burst-damage vampire. He can end a fight fast if you land his combo correctly. Both heroes reward players who learn their kits.
⭐ A-Tier (strong picks)
A-tier heroes trade a bit of raw power for a specific niche. Each one is still a strong pick in the right team.
- Luna Silverclaw is a Werewolf hit-and-run DPS hero. She holds a 58% win rate. Luna works best when you dive in, deal damage, and retreat before the enemy can punish you.
- Morgana Crimson is a Vampire control mage. She holds a 57% win rate. Morgana shines when you need to lock down enemies rather than burst them down.
- Grimjaw is a Werewolf raw berserker. He holds a 55% win rate. Grimjaw favors simple, aggressive play over careful positioning.
🔷 B-Tier (situational)
B-tier heroes are not weak. They just need the right situation to perform. Each one fills a specific niche instead of an all-purpose role.
- Thorne Nightshade is a stealth specialist. He fits niche stealth-focused strategies rather than general play.
- Selene Moonfall is a healer and hybrid fighter. She is built for PvE content, not PvP.
- Lord Vasilius is a tank and support hero. He fits the Clan War meta especially well.
- Moonhowler is a ritualist. He synergizes with Moon events in particular.
- Ironhide Brutus is a pure tank. He is best for defense-focused builds.
⚠️ C-Tier (avoid for competitive)
Two heroes land in C-tier. They still work in casual play, but we do not recommend them for competitive PvP.
- Wildfang is a ranged DPS hero. His mechanics feel outdated compared to newer heroes.
- Bloody Mary is a damage-over-time specialist. Her kit is hard to execute well, which holds back her results.
Hero signature abilities
Every hero has one signature ability. Standard subclasses cannot learn these moves. Here is what each top hero's signature ability does.
- 🏆 Fenris Alpha: His signature ability is "Alpha's Fury." It triples his damage for 2 turns.
- 🩸 Alistair: His signature ability is "Nightfall Strike." It hits three times and executes any enemy under 25% HP.
- 🌙 Luna: Her signature ability is "Moonshadow." She teleports behind the enemy and lands a guaranteed critical hit.
- ✨ Morgana: Her signature ability is "Crimson Cascade." It silences enemies in an area and applies damage over time.
How to unlock heroes
Heroes do not all unlock the same way. Higher-tier heroes take more progress to reach. Here is the path, step by step.
- Reach level 60 first. Base heroes unlock through faction quests at this point.
- Reach Prestige P2 or higher. This unlocks rare heroes, including Fenris and Alistair.
- Reach Prestige P5 and win Eclipse War matches. This unlocks legendary heroes, including Luna and Morgana.
- Finish the hero's full quest chain. This is what unlocks their signature ability.
Start by climbing to level 60 so the base roster opens up. From there, work toward Prestige milestones to reach the strongest heroes on this list. Even if a hero is not unlocked yet, it helps to know their role in advance so you can plan your build around them.
