The 3 Tiers of Gem Spending
🏆 Tier 1: HIGH value (spend ASAP)
- Inventory slots (50 gems each, +5 per purchase, max +50) — biggest QoL upgrade in the game
- Trader's License (500/mo) — pays itself back 5-10x via AH flipping
- Respec scroll (20 gems) — only when truly needed for PvP meta shift
- Rename scroll (10 gems) — nick regret is real
⭐ Tier 2: MEDIUM value (spend after Tier 1)
- Battle Pass Premium (200 gems/season) — if you play 2+ hours daily
- Character slots (100 gems) — for alt-characters
- Auction House extended history (100 gems/mo) — pro traders only
🔷 Tier 3: LOW value (optional, cosmetics)
- Gear skins (50-200 gems each)
- Mount skins (100-500 gems)
- Title colors (25 gems)
- Chat badges (50 gems)
F2P Gem Budget (realistic)
Expected F2P gem income
- ✅ Month 1: ~150 gems (achievements + login streak + tutorial)
- ✅ Month 2-3: ~80-100 gems/month (consistent income)
- ✅ Battle Pass FREE: +200 gems/season (every 3 months)
- ✅ Event bonuses: 50-200 gems/event (monthly)
F2P total year 1: ~1,500-2,000 gems. Plan accordingly.
The Optimal F2P Spending Order
- Save starter 50 gems → +5 inventory slots (50 gems)
- Month 1: Save to 100 gems → +5 more slots
- Month 2: Save to 500 → Trader's License (first month)
- Month 3+: Recurring 500/mo for Trader's License (passive income from AH)
- Surplus: Battle Pass Premium if you play >2h/day
- Last priority: cosmetics only if everything above is covered
Common Gem Mistakes
- ❌ Buying cosmetic skins before inventory slots (false satisfaction, no utility)
- ❌ Overspending on first rename (pick good nick first time)
- ❌ Impulse Battle Pass Premium without playing enough to complete
- ❌ Chasing limited-time cosmetics (FOMO trap)
- ❌ Daily gem top-ups (always save for Tier 1 priorities)
Spender Optimization (if buying gems)
- Larger packs have 20-40% bonus gems
- Buy during Season sales (3 per year)
- Regional pricing may vary — check your currency
- Annual Trader's License bundle saves vs monthly
