Types of Community Events
VvW features three categories of community events, each offering different experiences and rewards. Understanding the types helps you plan your weekly schedule and maximize your reward earnings.
GM-Hosted Events
Game Master events are official events run by the VvW development team. These include seasonal festivals (Blood Moon, Eclipse War, Harvest of Souls), world boss invasions, and special limited-time challenges. GM events always feature exclusive rewards that cannot be obtained any other way, including cosmetic titles, unique weapon skins, and limited-edition companion pets. GM events are announced at least one week in advance through the in-game news panel and the official Discord server.
Player-Run Events
Any player can organize a community event using VvW's built-in tournament tools. Player-run events range from informal 1v1 dueling brackets to organized multi-clan war leagues with weeks of competition. The in-game event creator allows you to set rules, entry requirements, brackets, and prize pools funded by participant entry fees or clan treasuries. Some of the most popular recurring events in VvW are player-run, not official.
Automated Events
VvW runs several automated events on fixed schedules that require no organizer. These include the Daily Arena Challenge (top 3 arena performers earn bonus rewards), Weekly Bounty Board (complete specific objectives for tokens), and the Monthly Leaderboard Reset (top-ranked players across all categories receive seasonal rewards). Automated events run regardless of player population and are always available.
Weekly Tournaments
The backbone of VvW's competitive scene is the weekly tournament cycle. Every week features multiple tournament formats, each catering to different playstyles and skill levels.
| Tournament | Schedule | Format | Top Prize |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arena Showdown | Every Saturday, 8 PM UTC | Single-elimination 1v1, 32 players | Champion's Crown title + 500 Blood Gems |
| Clan Clash | Every Sunday, 6 PM UTC | 5v5 team elimination, 8 clans | Clan Banner upgrade + 2000 Gold per member |
| Underdog Cup | Every Wednesday, 7 PM UTC | 1v1, level 30-50 only | Rare equipment chest + 200 Blood Gems |
| Survival Gauntlet | Every Friday, 9 PM UTC | Last-man-standing FFA, 16 players | Gauntlet Champion badge + 300 Blood Gems |
To enter a weekly tournament, visit the Tournament Board in any major city hub or access it through the Events tab in the game menu. Registration typically opens 24 hours before the event starts. Most tournaments have a small entry fee (50-100 Gold) that contributes to the prize pool, ensuring that winning feels rewarding.
Register early for popular tournaments. The Arena Showdown fills its 32 slots within the first few hours of registration. If you miss the main bracket, a waitlist system automatically places you if someone drops out before the event starts.
Seasonal Championships
Four times a year, VvW hosts a major Seasonal Championship that spans an entire month and features the biggest prizes in the game. Seasonal Championships combine individual PvP rankings, clan war performance, and special challenge completion into a single composite score.
Championship Seasons
- Blood Moon Championship (January): Vampire-themed season with bonus rewards for vampire players. Features the Blood Moon world event with enhanced vampire skills and exclusive vampire cosmetics.
- Howling Gale Championship (April): Werewolf-themed season with bonus rewards for werewolf players. Coincides with the Spring Equinox event and enhanced werewolf Moon Night bonuses.
- Eclipse War Championship (July): Cross-faction season where vampires and werewolves compete directly. The largest prize pool of the year, culminating in the Eclipse War world event. See our Eclipse War Guide for details.
- Harvest of Souls Championship (October): Halloween-themed season with spooky cosmetics, undead NPC invasions, and a special co-op raid against the Harvest Lord boss.
Championship rewards scale with your final placement. The top 100 players receive exclusive seasonal titles that display permanently on their profile. The top 10 receive a unique weapon skin available only during that season. The overall champion receives a one-of-a-kind legendary cosmetic and a permanent stat bonus for the following season.
How to Host Your Own Event
VvW's event creation system empowers any player to organize community activities. Here is how to set up and run a successful player-run event.
- Access the Event Creator: Navigate to the Events tab and select "Create Event." You need to be at least level 20 to create events.
- Choose a Format: Select from preset formats (1v1 bracket, team elimination, free-for-all, race-to-kill challenge) or create a custom format with your own rules.
- Set Requirements: Define level ranges, subclass restrictions, gear score caps, or any other entry criteria. Level-capped events ensure fairness and attract more participants.
- Configure the Prize Pool: Fund prizes from your own gold, collect entry fees from participants, or request sponsorship from your clan treasury. VvW adds a 10% bonus to any player-funded prize pool to encourage community events.
- Promote Your Event: Share the event link in clan chat, the community Discord, and the in-game bulletin board. Events with clear descriptions and fair rules attract more sign-ups.
- Run the Event: The system handles bracket generation, matchmaking, and result tracking automatically. As the organizer, you can pause matches, disqualify rule-breakers, and announce results in real-time.
Players who successfully organize events with 16 or more participants earn the "Event Organizer" badge and bonus reputation with the Tournament Guild NPC faction. Hosting 10 or more events unlocks the "Master of Ceremonies" title.
Prizes and Rewards
VvW's event reward system ensures that participating in community events is always worthwhile, whether you win or just show up. Rewards fall into several categories:
- Blood Gems: The premium event currency. Earned from tournament placements and weekly challenges. Spend them at the Event Vendor for exclusive gear, cosmetics, and consumables.
- Exclusive Titles: Earned only through event participation. Titles like "Arena Champion," "Clan War Hero," and "Survival King" display on your character profile and in chat. Some titles provide minor stat bonuses.
- Cosmetic Rewards: Weapon skins, armor dyes, character auras, and profile borders that showcase your achievements. Seasonal cosmetics are only available during their respective championship period.
- Participation Tokens: Every event gives participation tokens even to players who lose in the first round. Accumulate these for the Participation Vendor's reward track, which includes gold, consumables, and eventually exclusive gear.
- Gold and Equipment: Many events pay out gold directly. Higher-tier tournaments can award rare and epic equipment pieces.
Event Calendar Integration
VvW features an in-game event calendar that aggregates all upcoming events: GM-hosted, player-run, and automated. Access it through the Events tab or the calendar icon on the main game dashboard. The calendar shows event times in your local time zone, and you can set reminders that notify you 15 minutes before an event starts.
You can also subscribe to the VvW event calendar externally using the iCal export feature. This adds VvW events to your Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar so you never miss a tournament while offline. The export link is found in the Events tab under "Calendar Settings."

Community Discord Events
The official VvW Discord server is the hub for community event coordination. Beyond the in-game tools, Discord hosts several exclusive event types that blend social interaction with gameplay.
Discord-Exclusive Activities
- Lore Trivia Nights: Weekly trivia events testing your knowledge of VvW lore, the World of Aeternum, and the history of the Vampire-Werewolf conflict. Winners earn Discord-exclusive roles and in-game bonus items.
- Build Showcase: Monthly events where players share their most creative or unusual builds. Community votes determine winners, and top builds are featured in the official blog.
- Fan Art Contests: Quarterly art competitions with themes tied to current seasonal events. Winners receive premium Blood Gem packages and have their art displayed in the in-game gallery.
- Strategy Discussion Panels: Moderated voice-chat sessions where top-ranked players share tips, answer questions, and discuss meta shifts. These panels are recorded and posted to the community YouTube channel.
- New Player Mentorship: Experienced players volunteer to mentor newcomers through their first week. Mentors earn exclusive "Guide of Aeternum" titles and reputation bonuses.
Joining the Discord is free and open to all players. The server link is available on the Contact page and in the in-game social menu. We strongly recommend joining even if you are a solo player, as event announcements and community tips are shared there first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a high level to participate in events?
No. Many events have level-capped brackets (the Underdog Cup is level 30-50 only), and participation tokens are awarded regardless of your match results. Even a level 10 character can earn rewards from the Weekly Bounty Board and Daily Arena Challenge.
Can free-to-play players compete with paying players?
Yes. VvW's competitive events use gear-score normalization in ranked brackets, meaning paying players have no stat advantage in official tournaments. Player-run events may vary, but most community organizers enforce similar fairness rules.
How do I find player-run events?
Check the in-game Event Board, the community Discord events channel, and the official VvW forums. Popular events are also promoted through the in-game bulletin board in major city hubs.
What happens if I disconnect during a tournament?
VvW has a reconnection window of 3 minutes for tournament matches. If you reconnect within that window, the match resumes. If you fail to reconnect, you forfeit the match. Persistent disconnection issues should be resolved before entering tournaments; see our Performance Tips guide.
Can clans host inter-clan leagues?
Yes. The event creation system supports multi-round league formats with point tracking across weeks. Several community leagues run continuously, with seasons lasting 4-8 weeks. Top clans often form alliances to organize these leagues, which is a great way to recruit new members. See our Clan Recruitment Guide for more.
